Teresa's Successful Recovery
Teresa, 34, came to us in January following a PEG tube replacement at
a local short-term hospital. Last October she was in a motor vehicle
accident which rendered her comatose, with a PEG and trach on a
ventilator.
With the support of her family and intensive hospital care she began
to respond and to make amazing progress day by day. In February she was
discharged - totally awake and alert, decannulated, eating on her own,
able to transfer from bed to chair, standing and walking with a
hemi-walker, and performing most of her activities of daily living with
minimal help.
